2012 icon progression + favorites

A bit late with this but, Happy New Year everyone! :D

I was going to post this earlier but it's the holidays and I didn't feel like it~ ha Anyways these are the icons I made this past year plus my personal favorites at the very end. (each month is a link to the original post) I feel like I learned a lot this year, especially during the past two months, I've really tried hard at changing up my style, trying new things and branching out. Joining elite icon communities really helped out as the competition there is pretty steep, which makes it all the more fun!

Watching iconpraise has also helped tremendously in seeing amazing work and gaining many different ideas. I think the icon community as a whole has grown this year, or is it just me? I'm not sure but you all are a fantastic bunch and I'm glad to be a part of it! :]

It's so cool how your icons went from all being really simplistic to a look that's a bit more textured, and how you sort of evolved in the ways you looked at composition. You've grown so much over the year. Happy 2013!

I've always had a ton of textures sitting around on my hard drive but I never learned how to really use them. I'm glad I took the time to figure out how to work with them this year, they're so useful to me now. :]
